Videos without subtitles on Facebook really get to my nerves.

Sure, I may want to learn the origins of eggnog (which by the way originated in early British medieval times) but if there are no words on the lower third of the screen then I’d rather jump into freezing water than click the sound button.

I know you probably feel the same and the truth is, we’re not alone. According to recent stats, 85% of Facebook videos are watched on silent mode.

And there’s more to this than you actually think – enough to at least make Facebook’s CMO say that not captioning video is “the biggest mistake you’re making”.
