New Appointment Drives Unbabel’s Vision to Continue Global Expansion as Need for Multilingual Translation Accelerates in Customer Service
San Francisco, CA ‒ september 29, 2020 ‒ Unbabel, the AI-powered, human-refined translation platform that enables multilingual customer service at scale, today announced the appointment of Sophie Vu to the role of chief marketing officer (CMO) based in the company’s San Francisco headquarters. As CMO, Vu leads the strategic direction of marketing and is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of strategic go-to-market efforts to guide the company’s expanding international presence in existing and future markets.

Vu brings more than two decades of experience in all functions of marketing and customer experience (CX) strategy. With a strong pulse on the current and emerging market landscape, Vu is well versed in growing and leading innovative tech startups and Fortune 500 companies where she specializes in building high performance teams.

Most recently, Vu was CMO of Vibes, where she partnered with top brands, enabling marketers to unlock new revenue with the technology and guidance needed for mobile marketing success. Previously, Vu was vice president, marketing of Sparkcentral, a global SaaS Digital Customer Service platform, and vice president of global marketing of Kony (acquired by Temenos), a leading enterprise mobile application platform provider.
Vu holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and International Business from the Lam Family College of Business at San Francisco State University and an MBA in Marketing and Strategic Management from UCLA Anderson School of Management.
